Las Vegas

Jacob had a work conference for a week down in Las Vegas, so he decided to leave me for 5 days
:( He flew me down for the last day that he was there, so he wouldn't have to drive all the way back up alone...and because he missed me :)
Jake surprised me with tickets to see David Copperfield.. An all time favorite for the both of us! We sat down at a table with two other couples from St. George and Canada...when suddenly, a man from the show came up to us asking if we would like to score front row seats to the show. Of course were like Yes, but what's the catch? He told us that we would have to walk in front of the whole audience (on the floor, not the stage), and we would be part of one of his jokes. So as we walked to our seats, he stopped talking, and the BRIGHT spotlight followed us... with David glareing at us, saying "Well, look who has finally come..you missed a video, and my first trick where I came out of box from a motorcycle...etc." Of course, I was mortified! BUT, we scored front row seats! It was so worth it!
Then when you think we had it good enough... David decided he was going to grab two people from the crowd... as soon as I thought I was safe, he passed me and then soon grabbed my hand to be part of his next trick. If anyone knows me, I don't do well with this kind of stuff. Jake said I looked like a pro.. I will say, I couldn't see anyone in the audience because the lights were so bright... I was more nervous with the begginning act than on stage!
So you're thinking, well what did I have to do? Well, he told me I had to pick up a deadly scorpion, which was alive everyone! He gave me these black rubber gloves, and I had to hold this plastic box that was holding the scorpion. I will say... my arms did NOT move! So while I was holding this scorpion for dear life, Copperfield and the other girl were doing a card trick.. and he picked the Scorpion up with his bear hands and the Scorpion grabbed the card she picked... Good Times! The act ended with me having to give David Copperfield a kiss on the cheek :) Yup, be jealous everyone!

Then...we walked around the Strip till our legs were about to fall off...had drunk people attempt to take our pictures, and walked in and out of all the casinos till our lungs couldn't handle anymore!!

Erin Loves the Circus!!

Jake and I, and two of his friends from work went to the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus. It was AMAZING! I have truly been deprived as a child... or, circus's never made there way to Connecticut!

I still don't understand how these elephants did this!

Check out this Steal!

So I have developed a mild obsession with two sites recently.. Craigslist.com, and Ksl.com. These classifieds are seriously going to make me go bankrupt. Just kidding! But I have come across some really good steals, and I just want to make known to everyone of my most recent purchase. Because I am actually kind of proud of my purchase.
I got this table and five chairs, which extends 8 feet long after all three leafs are in the table, all for the grand total of $75! Can you believe that! Our apartment was really lacking a table, so I thought that this would be a great investment, since I will eventually need a table one day. Right?

Visiting the Family

East Coast Trip

My parents, Kyle and I took off to Lake George, NY for a few days...My dad had this bright idea to hike Mt. Plesant. Kyle and I had a lot of great bonding time since we reached the top over a hour before my parents...You will see how they felt about this hike by the picture below...

As you can see... My mom Loved this hike! But they made it :) However, she was complaining about it the whole way home, on how we made her climb this HUGE mountain. Love you Mom!

This was along the way... among Kyle and I's many stops. We had great bonding time though, since he just took off for a few months for the Army.

We went to Connecticut on my last day and saw my Sista! Love them!

Most importantly... you can not forget the TRUE love of my life! Princess and Dufus! However, since we were out of town for the majority of my stay.. They went to doggie camp!

It was great to see family and friends...but Man, we did a LOT of traveling!! Thanks Mom and Dad for my vacation! It was well needed! Sorry you lost in tennis :) Maybe next time you guys can bring your "A" Game!

Living the Life....

Well...I thought it was about time to start living the life of the rich and famous... Minus the whole famous part... I purchased a queen bed, and the cutest bed ensemble! Thanks to Michelle and her brother James and Nate for helping me with the purchase/move! Much thanks to Nate for practically putting my whole room together ;)
Yup, count them! That's "Eight" pillows! When I go to sleep at night, I get swallowed between all my pillows...Sleeping at night is such a beautiful thing! It's like in that movie "Along Came Polly"...where his ex-wife has all the accent pillows, and Ben Stiller thinks they are meaningless. I SO disagree! I L-O-V-E it!

My Pup..for a week :)

I must say... this has been the 1 of the craziest months ever. I decided to buy the cutest little puppy last weekend... and then... deciding that I needed to sell her all within the same week. Sadest moment this morning. I sold her to the best family though! This little 9 yr. old girl was begging for me to give it to her. She didn't realize the whole part of I was trying to sell her. I was so happy to see little "Madie" was going to a great home, where there will always be someone home with her. She was a little needy ;)

She loved the mirror! She was only going to get like 6 pounds! It breaks my heart, but I am so glad that I was able to find a really great home for her, and see the little girl just so excited that it was hers. They recently had a kitten, and had it for a week and ended up dying... You can see why she was just so happy! Madie will love them, and Erin can breathe again :)

Those were the days....

As I sit home and think about this day... to think, TWO YEARS AGO! I seriously can't even believe it. I don't think anyone really can... I still get to this day people asking me, "So, what are you studying?''...People that I swear I have told numerous times...Never fail..Everytime, I usually get a little heated and tell them, "Well, for the 3rd time, I've been done for awhile now!" Do I seriously look and act that young? Am I missing something?

Come on! I totally matured, don't you think?

Evan comes to Utah!

After driving around all day showing him Salt Lake City, Park City, Heber City, and Provo...I thought he should at least experience hiking the Y... Luckily, we were the only ones on the trail going up, because he took his shirt off :)

Saturday...
We hiked to Timp Caves!
You can see the valley near the top

I forget what our tour guide called this little lake inside the caves

Then... the amazing tour guide that I was.. I took him to the Copper Mine. By this time... we were exhausted...

Blaze Game

As you can see from this picture, Jake got some tickets to see the Utah Blaze. He was really excited :) I've never been before, but there an indoor football arena team. It's basically the same as regular football, give or take a few rules....and they play spongebob square pants... Can you imagine seeing that at a college football game?!?
Just us, with good ol' Mark in the background
Jakes sister Jennica..I forced this one out of her. It was a trial.
This is Jake's other sister Marissa and Travey!

Teresa's Wedding

Teresa got married Friday, March 21, 2008. It was really good seeing her and catching up with old Connecticut friends.
It was so good seeing Teresa, but at the same time it was so weird thinking she's married now.

I am so sick of winter....

Does anyone feel like Winter has just been dragging this year? I was sitting the other night at my apartment, freezing of course, wondering when this winter is going to stop. Jake informed me that Spring is officially here in like 30 days or so... My immediate response was, "Does that mean the weather will be warmer?". He said maybe a little, where I then immediately ignored that comment, because a little is not enough...I am so ready for Summer to be here, and for all the snow to go away!! How about a family trip to Hawaii Dad :)

We actually ended up seeing Charlie from the Mighty Ducks, or Pacey from Dawsons Creek. Kinda crazy. There was a huge storm coming in...so it was really windy and snowing like crazy.. And of all things what did everyone want to do, go hot tubbing? huh! Yeah. I lasted probably 5 minutes, and I went back inside :)

Chicago Madness

I decided that I wanted to dedicate a whole post to explaining the nightmares of traveling on American Airlines...So to future travelers, keep this in mind! Erin started her trek back East on a Sunday...around 7:30a.m. She was not feeling so good, almost had a little episode in the car while driving up to the airport. We got to the airport, and of course holiday season the airport is really busy. I proceeded along through security, stripping off all your extra layers, belts, shoes... while they search you, and your purse...feeling totally violated.
I sat down, when I come to find out that I had a hour delay going into Chicago. I figured, oh that's not to bad... I wasn't feeling well to begin with. Then the hour delay then turned into 2 hours, making my arrival time into Chicago after the time I was supposed to board in Chicago for my next flight.
But this was just the beginning of Erin Marie's travel nightmares.. If I only knew what I was getting myself into, I would have just went straight home. Sorry Family :)
I arrived in Chicago.. and if anyone has ever been to Chicago OHare, the airport is HUGE! So in high heels and all, Erin is running with her pink blanket in one arm, and her sister on the other... in panic that she might not get to her gate in time. As I entered the terminal, there was absolute CHAOS in the terminal. I have never seen anything like it. People were crying, emotions were raging, and people were running to try and get there flight.. Flights were being canceled left and right...The lines to actually talk to someone were rediculously long.
I waited at my gate, which was then changed probably 3 times, and I had to walk to each side of the airport... and waited... delay after delay.. After waiting for two hours of delays, an employee gets on the intercom and announces the absolute unthinkable.. CANCELED! What! Well I don't know what to do... So I call my dad, and beg for my father, who is sitting at home, to make this all go away, and for him to tell me exactly what I am supposed to do... I don't care that I am 23 years old, I NEED my dad! I am in complete tears. No one will talk/help you... Everyone is in the same situation that I am in... CHAOS!
I then get on the so-called "RED" phone with American Airlines to try and book another flight, so I can get the heck out of this airport. I didn't care if I went to Florida, I just wanted OUT of this madness! I then was on the phone for 30 minutes talking to a lady, who was trying to book a flight into La Guardia, NY...the only flight that she could put me on was 5-6 hours later! Are you kidding me! I asked if she would be able to put me on an earlier flight into NY, at 9:30, but because she was incompetent and had put me on hold for so long, she said it was to late to get me onto that flight.. So not only could I have left almost 3-4 hours sooner, she couldn't put me on the earlier flight. However, she "gaurenteed" my luggage to be on that 11:40 flight. Interesting...
Well you think the nightmare ends... I then waited around for 5 hours, praying that my flight would take off on time... Without any cell phone battery left. I was left alone...
I finally got onto my flight, which only lasted an hour and a half... and finally met my wonderful sister who has been waiting for me in New York at 3:15 A.M. I was traveling for close to 24 hours, by the time I drove to CT, and then got back into the car and drove straight to Vermont. Luggage? Well we waited for 30 minutes for them to finally get our bags out, to find out that even though my luggage was gaurenteed to be on that flight, it was still stuck in Chicago...
Needless to say, I didn't have any clothes till Christmas morning.. Christmas gifts? Sorry family, that came late too. I called American Airlines looking for my luggage close to 30 times. Not one employee could tell me where my luggage was located, and repeately told me to try back, and hopefully it's on the next flight out... my luggage didn't get to me till Thursday, 4 days later!
What is the moral of the story? 1. Never, EVER fly into Chicago Airport. 2. Never EVER EVER EVER fly American Airlines. EVER!
There was a happy ending... I returned home to Utah, without any delays, problems or hassles!!

Christmas in Vermont

Christmas can't be explained any better than this right here....

McDuff is having a field day in all the snow!
