Christmas in Vermont!

This was the first time in two years everyone was home for Christmas... So it was definitely something I think we all were looking forward to... It was a crazy few days, but I guess that's what makes the holidays the best!

My traveling home was once again a blogging experience.. I had anxiety for the first time traveling home for the holidays... and it made complete sense when I stepped into the airport last Wednesday morning. I had two layovers, which I've never done. One in Detroit and Las Vegas. Upon arriving at the airport in Salt lake, the usuals occur... crowded and crazy airports... intense screenings, delays... and waiting.. There was a hour delay going out for some reason...When finally landing in Vegas I did my usual routines.. Look at the departure screen, after seeing it was on time, I proceeded to get comfortable for my 2 hour layover.. Then finding out like 20 minutes later, my flight to Detroit was delayed 3 hours!

Well, when you have 2 layovers, delays like this can't occur. I went to the customer service desk to talk to them about my flight delay, and they THEN told me I was going to arrive in Detroit to late to catch my connecting flight into Burlington.. So I had to do a quick rearranging of the flights, so I would fly into Minneapolis and then Hartford instead.. Luckily, I realized this soon enough because this flight was "supposed" to take off in 20 minutes.. We finally take off, and I am literally a stress case talking to the passenger next to me... and him trying to confirm to me that I will make it.. even though by the time we land, taxi, and get off the plane I will have about 10 minutes to run to my next gate... So there I go... Running through the airport FULL speed to make my next flight. By the time I got to my gate, I literally could not breathe...

Feeling some relief... I get to my seat and the flight attendant gets on the mic and says that the plane is having computer problems... and if they can't get it figured out we will have to cancel our flight, and hopefully get a flight out the next day...At this point I want to cry... My parents have to now drive three hours to a different airport than planned, and are almost there and I haven't even left yet... A hour later, we finally take off...

Settling down to a movie, and wi-fi on the flight... I then proceeded to knock a cup of ice cubes all over my laptop, and literally chucking them onto the woman next to me. At the time it seemed like the only option.. luckily this woman completely understood and didn't care... and it was something to laugh about... but wow... and you think the day wasn't bad enough already. I seriously was so lucky I didn't have water in that cup, because I am pretty sure it would have busted my computer. Just my luck.

So much went wrong traveling home last Wednesday...despite everything went wrong, I was extremely lucky to get a different flight out, and my luggage actually made it on my flights. Now that's a miracle! I figured it wouldn't be as bad coming back... But it doesn't help the Northeast just got slammed with 2 ft of snow... and 1000's of flights canceled... Now that that is slowly clearing up.. Utah is going to get hit with a snow storm tomorrow.

Moral of the story... no more layover flights and avoid the East Coast during the holidays...

Thanksgiving miracles!

So two miracles happened this Thanksgiving...

1. I didn't kill anyone (as of yet) with my mothers homemade stuffing.. I will say I suffered intense anxiety, headaches, some tears, and some restless nights over this... However, it was a success. Still wasn't perfect like my mothers, but it sure was close enough for being my first time, and under the conditions I was facing!!!!

2. Jayden warmed up to Grandpa! They are officially pals :)

Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!!!!!

Pray for me...

I LOVE THANKSGIVING!
Well... I don't know if any of you have ever had to make something without specific measurements... It's kinda hard, don't you think? Yeah! Impossible almost! AND, how do you accomplish this task when the source of all this goodness is miles away!
Well, this week I am trying the impossible. I have to learn somehow, right? I am attempting the infamous mothers stuffing! And I have been given approximate amounts, and only the ingredients... Mother thinks its humorous.. But I think its horrible... because all of her best recipes, well best dishes, she does by TASTE and LOOK...and there never is a recipe!!!!

This might be one Thanksgiving NO one will forget!!!!

Just another ordinary day....

Well... President Bush was doing a book signing at Costco in Sandy Utah friday... and, well I guess you could say that I am pretty much famous now... I got to not only shake the hand of the President, but I was able to get a signed book from him. It was a firm shake too... I don't think we let go for like 5-10 seconds...Or, I didn't let go...

This is us waiting in line (Marissa on left, me on right)... It was like 8am... and we were waiting in line for like seven hours. It wasn't too cold, just kinda windy. We were in the first 500, so we were definitely gauranteed to see him. But I guess he got through like 1000 people. We had to go through security checks, so we weren't allowed any cameras or purses. They were pretty strict through that part. Overall, well worth the wait.

It's not everyday you get to meet a former President!!!!

Christmas in Vermont!!!

I'm going home for CHRISTMAS!!!! It's been seriously the worst year.. and still being unemployed, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get home with tickets being in the high 600's. But, my amazing brother Evan gave me his skymiles from work.... and I was able to get a ticket home, and I only had to pay transfer fees. I am soo grateful for him! I wouldn't have been able to go home without him helping me out this year. It's not only going to be a GREAT Christmas because I get to go home, but because EVERYONE will finally be together!
It's going to be a crazy house for a week! Start preppin' mom and dad!

Happy Birthday to me....

Jake got tickets to see Lady Antebellum in concert, for my 26th birthday. Wow, 26th! yikes!
I will say... I have been to a lot of country concerts and this one by far has been the most interesting ever... It was in a smaller venue, which means general admission seats... Or I guess no seats at all, so you have to stand the whole time. It wasn't horrible, minus the fact I am only 5'6 on a good day... so it was really hard to see over people, even being really close to the front.
The concert/performance was really good... However, there were so many strange things going on during this show... Here are a few: We were surrounded by two sets of girls that were very very VERY affectionate towards other girls... if you know what I mean...Did I mention very?? The more you looked, the worse it got...To put it lightly, it was disgusting and I gave up my seats for awhile to get away from it...I couldn't concentrate. We made our way back over when we proceeded to get a bra thrown at our heads from the crowds upstairs... witness a massive girl get in a cat fight and throwing beer at each other right in front of me...and this same massive girl backing up right into us, and little me just pinned against the wall with crushed feet...The affectionate girls made there way back... drunk crazzzies roaming everywhere... and an effectionate straight couple just lovin' the music I guess :)
Good thing Lady Antelbellum puts on a good show, and they have good music to let you just laugh at all the weirdness going on :)

I never really liked Halloween... but these are ALL the reasons I do :)

My cute little nephews... They were both dogs for Halloween..

I haven't gotten out much lately.. I am trying to be super cautious of how I spend money since I haven't been able to land a job yet. Hopefully it'll come soon...
But, it's always nice to get out with good friends :)

Happy Monday!

I am always texting my sister for pictures... And this one is it... The little man is getting so big! Apparently, they took him to Toys R Us, and he didn't want to let go of his toy the whole ride home... The ball popping pushing thing (I don't know what they are called) !!

Happy Monday!

Apparently, this is what happens when you sneak up on someone....

Happy Birthday Jayden!!!

Jayden turned 1!! Can you believe it! Where has this last year of my life gone! Look at the little man....I am so sad I missed the big party. I love how he only puts one little finger in it.. Apparently, that didn't last long :)
He looks kinda nervous... as if mom and dad aren't going to allow him to dive right in....

Whoever did the cake, did an awesome job! My sister did a great job picking out the cake, it looks amazing!

Brad Paisley Concert

This was probably one of the best country concerts I've been too... It might have a little something to do with the fact we scored front row seats...Luckily, we weren't surrounded with so many crazies this time :) Darius Rucker was also there, from Hootie and the Blowfish. He opened for Brad.
I almost touched his leg...but he walked to fast ;)

Boyz' to Men

Ahh who could ever forget Boyz' to Men... this takes me back to High School....I am not sure exactly why they were playing at the Utah State Fair... but it was definitely worth it!
Jake, Marissa(his sister) and Colin went...It was a lot of fun, and we even got fried dough at the Carnival... unfortunately we stink at winning big stuffed animals... we are awesome at losing money playing them though! One day we'll win... Good times at the Utah State Fair!

They've still got it!

Jayden's First Haircut!

My life is not at all exciting at the moment, so I feel it's best to live my life through my cute nephews! Kim said she wasn't cutting his hair till he turns 1, which is Sunday.... 4 1/2 inches long apparently.... Wow! But look at that cute face! He was a champ, and just lovin' that comb!

Payson Pig Wrestling

Jake and some of his friends decided to enter this Pig Wrestling competiton. You had to pick up this HUGE pig and put it in the barrel... Nearly impossible, considering what they were rolling around in...

Needless to say, the pig won!
Good times and laughs in Payson Utah :)

Crusing down Provo Canyon....

I've been meaning to do this post for awhile.. but my bike was out of service for a little bit... So I had to wait.. But check this out! I'm the queen of finding good deals on KSL, and always getting them to make me a deal. I found this mtn. bike online for $70, and I told her I would do $60.. I go to pick it up, and I'm checkin it out... asking LOTS of careful questions of course.. and she just wanted to get rid of it, and I think was nervous I wasn't going to take it. So she goes inside... and comes back out, and tells me $30.. I said SOLD! I thought I was going to have to fix the brakes, but my friends Dad said it just came undone. How sweet is that!

I don't know why I was making this face, and how it got on camera....

Check it out!! Tip top condition! As you can see, I am very excited about this purchase.. hence why it's made the blog! And, I have been wanting a bike forever!

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

One of my good friends/co-worker Liz is leaving us.. She is moving to Moab, Utah for a good job opportunity, but luckily it only lasts a year... and she is still in driving distance!!

Demolition Derby

We got tickets to the Heber City Demolition Derby. So a bunch of us strolled on up Saturday! There was nothing too too dramatic that happened. One car got flipped, and I am pretty sure I have a picture of that. It was a lot of fun!

Tim McGraw & Lady Antebellum Concert

We went to the Tim McGraw concert on Friday night.. I like to think of country concerts as I am living in the great and spacious building... I could not believe it. I actually had to search for the people who weren't drinking... Apparently it's the "thing to do" at concerts, which is probably why I was never a huge fan of them... But, it was still a really really good concert!!!

Golfing at Easy Bay Golf Course

I didn't do bad for a girl I must add... We only did 9 holes though.. So I wasn't just a silly, but tan blonde driving the cart!

Utah Lake

Ahhh, nothing like a Saturday on the lake... Daniel has sea doos, and I was the lucky rider! I was able to drive, which is soo much better than being the passenger... I definitely was crusing pretty fast, for me I guess :) It was a beautiful day, even though the clouds say otherwise!
Crazy Kyle... Enough said...

Happy 4th of July Weekend!

This 4th of July Weekend has been filled with non-stop fun! I think this is truly my new favorite holiday, AND Provo Utah is where I want to be celebrating it! Imagine that! There was so much going on between Provo's Freedom Festival and friends, that I am truly exhausted... Very grateful I didn't have to work today :) There were so many little things happening, and blogger is weird posting pictures... So were going to do it by event!
First, We went to the Balloon Festival early Saturday Morning... 6:30am, might I add, and of course I snatched a picture of just Coke! It was freezing because the sun wasn't up, and apparently, when the sun starts to come up it gets rid of some of the wind? Never understood that stuff...
However, they were only able to launch three, because of the wind. I was SOO exccited to see this coke bottle! How sweet is that thing just floating in the air! The Erin sensors went off, and I dodged to this one!

Four Wheelin up AF Canyon

Nate w/ his cute wife Kaitlyn, Austin and I went four wheeling on Saturday up American Fork Canyon. Destination: Forest Lake! I have no clue how ANYONE can/ would/want, to take drive there cars/trucks up here! Well, the lake was absolutely beautiful. BUT, I am suffering back pains because of this so-called trail we took up there. Between the huge rocks, rivers we crossed, mud paths we went through, and more and more and more rocks we went over... We finally made it!
Our team!

This was at the bottom, before we treked up. You can't see from this picture, but right below this is a little lake where people go fishing, swimming (burr!), and take there canoes out. It was soo pretty up here!

This is Forest Lake! It was sooo pretty!
