Tanner Jacob

Introducing Tanner Jacob. Born October 30, at 12:28pm, 7 lb 3 oz, and 20 inches long. Here are just a few of the pictures we got of our little guy at about 10 days old. He did really well, till the last shot. His crying expression was cute though :)
I absolutely love how they turned out, and we are just so in love with this little guy!

Christmas came early!!!

Baby Quilt

I decided that for each child we have, I was going to make a baby quilt for when they were born. It's been a challenging project because I wanted it to be absolutely perfect for our little guy. I am no quilter and I still have a lot to learn. But, each quilt I have made I will say is a little better...but only a little!
When I took this quilt to get quilted, it was a bit humbling because the lady kind of ripped my quilt apart.. in a constructive and respectful way of course... I then decided that I don't think I will ever be an advanced quilter, because it's seriously so tedious and complicated :) I like my shortcuts and the way I decide to do it!
Here it is

So glad it's done!!! And so excited for the little guy to come?!!

My first Rag Quilt

Before I got released from Young Womens, for the last year, almost all the young women were working on making there own quilts. We were given all the squares and some you had to specifically earn as well. For example, we got squares for our favorite temple, holidays, YW values, going on Pioneer Trek, and signed squares from all the leaders and girls. It's been an ongoing project for me for the last few months putting it together, and trying to figure out how I wanted to do it. Since none of the squares match, I decided to try the rag quilt technique, and I'm so glad that I did!!! For some reason I didn't care to much how it turned out, I was just trying to hurry and get it done before the baby comes. I am also doing a baby quilt for our little guy, so needless to say I have been a little stressed on getting them done!

Here is our 'favorite temple' square

Even though doing rag quilts is rather time consuming, I really like how it turned out!!!

It's a boy!!

Jake and I are ecstatic about the news! The doctor told us he was 85% sure it was a boy, but that 15% is still a huge chance! Jake and I were convinced the whole pregnancy it was a girl, so we were both shocked when he told us he thought it was a boy. I always wanted a boy first, and I don't think Jake realized how excited he was either to have a boy... It's been a great pregnancy so far, and I can't believe we're half way there!

Sking at Sundance

Jake's company has corporate passes to the Sundance Ski Resort. It's been great, especially since we can get them a lot!! We decided to take advantage of this perk and have been able to take quick trips up after work with just us or with friends. Of course we pick up skiing in one of the coldest winters in Utah....

It was like 4 degrees the first time we went. I haven't been skiing in 10 years... but I was able to pick it up again. It was a lot of fun, despite how freeeezing it was!!!

Jake and I....I am soo cold!

Meesh was in town, so we went up a few weeks ago. It was a lot warmer this time around, but we still were cold :)

Happy New Years

I can't tell you how excited I am for a New Year to start!!! 2012 was an overall rough year for us. 2013 has started off much better, and we are excited what this year will bring for Jake and I :)

This picture was taken at our annual New Years Party. It was another great turnout, and a lot of good times! at the Stowell home :)
