Baby Quilt

I decided that for each child we have, I was going to make a baby quilt for when they were born. It's been a challenging project because I wanted it to be absolutely perfect for our little guy. I am no quilter and I still have a lot to learn. But, each quilt I have made I will say is a little better...but only a little!
When I took this quilt to get quilted, it was a bit humbling because the lady kind of ripped my quilt apart.. in a constructive and respectful way of course... I then decided that I don't think I will ever be an advanced quilter, because it's seriously so tedious and complicated :) I like my shortcuts and the way I decide to do it!
Here it is

So glad it's done!!! And so excited for the little guy to come?!!

My first Rag Quilt

Before I got released from Young Womens, for the last year, almost all the young women were working on making there own quilts. We were given all the squares and some you had to specifically earn as well. For example, we got squares for our favorite temple, holidays, YW values, going on Pioneer Trek, and signed squares from all the leaders and girls. It's been an ongoing project for me for the last few months putting it together, and trying to figure out how I wanted to do it. Since none of the squares match, I decided to try the rag quilt technique, and I'm so glad that I did!!! For some reason I didn't care to much how it turned out, I was just trying to hurry and get it done before the baby comes. I am also doing a baby quilt for our little guy, so needless to say I have been a little stressed on getting them done!

Even though doing rag quilts is rather time consuming, I really like how it turned out!!!
