Freedom Run

Jake and I, along with Jake's siblings, ran the Freedom run on 4th of July morning. We just did the 5k, since we were running with Tanner, but it was still a lot of fun! My pace was unfortunately a little slower than I used to run, but we still enjoyed it! Tanner I think enjoyed himself as well, so much he took a good snooze after mile 1. We are thinking this will be a new 4th of July tradition for us each year!

My little man...

The weather is finally getting warm in Utah, and it appears to be finally staying that way. It's been in the 80's all week, and I've been just soaking it up! I can't remember the last time that I actually enjoyed the summer and was able to just be outside! I have the best walking/running partner!

I'm glad he likes being outside just as much as I do. I can't even believe he's 7 months now. Where has the time seriously gone?!

Jakes told me today we need to start getting him trucks and cars... since he loves to play with cooking utensils and my hair stuff. Who needs toys, when you can just play with the practical stuff?!?
So far we love... Bananas, pears, sweet potatoes.. We don't know how we feel about green beans, squash, and chicken.. unless we mix it in with some fruit :)

No more Braces!

I think Tanner's expression shows more how excited I am to be done with braces. I've had them off for a few months now, and I can't tell you how happy I am to be done! I had them on for about 15 months, and when I first got them on I'm pretty sure I thought it was the end of the world. After looking back though, I am so glad Jake and I decided to do them. It's been something I have been self-consicious with my whole life, and it's weird to think it's just something of the past. Although it was definitely painful and hard at times, SO glad I took the plunge!
I am grateful Jake and I had the means to do it, and even more grateful to go thru it being pregnant, because everyone looks at your belly, not your teeth ;)  Jake only requirement is, I have to smile more, which I still need to work on!!

6 months old

I can't even believe Tanner is 6 months old. This little guy has stolen our hearts, and I'm so proud to be his mama! He sits up like a champ, no teeth yet, sleeps the night, smiles and flirts with everyone, and is starting to give the biggest and cheesiest smiles. We love it! He wants to see everything, as a result, is begginning to fight his car seat :) And, we are finally starting some solids!

My sister in law rented a puppy for 2 hours and she loved Tanner. So much she slept on him :)

Happy Easter!

He was all serious when I was trying to get pictures of him... but then when grandma came out she instantly got some cute smiles!

He's usually always better dressed than we are!

Good thing he doesn't mind me taking all these pictures of him.. one day he will thank me :)

First time sitting in the cart... he was holding on for dear life, but loved looking at everything!

Virginia

Jake, Tanner and I just got back from a quick get away to visit family in Virginia. It was so fun seeing Jake's family and being apart of the big surprise birthday party for his uncle. We were able to ride horses, Jake rode a mechanical bull, visited his uncles college Southern Virginia, and just relaxed with family all weekend. The ranch was absolutely incredible!

Tanner's first time on a horse.

I decided that I need to ride more often. This is my 3rd time on a horse, and it hopefully isn't my last.

I love this sweet little guy.

Just cruising around in the Razors.

Tanner's Blessing Day

We decided to bless Tanner on Christmas Eve, at Jakes parents home. Jake gave a beautiful blessing, and Tanner slept through most of it :)

So grateful for this little guy!

Proud Mama!

3-4 months

Ever since Tanner was born, I feel a little behind on a lot of things. It's amazing how even though I quit my job, I still feel like I don't have enough time in the day to get things done. Welcome to Motherhood, is what everyone keeps on telling me. Tanner is almost 4 months. I can't even believe where time has gone. Even though we are so excited for him to start talking, walking and giving us huge hugs I can't help but get sad how fast he is growing.
Our little guy is about 14 lbs 5 oz now, 24 inches. He loves to sit up, and he is so close on doing it all himself. His laughs and smiles are seriously contagious. I can't get enough of them!! I am convinced he loves his dad more than me, but I love the bond that they have formed with each other. He started sleeping through the night on January 1st, and we couldn't be more pleased with this accomplishment. He decided to start the year off right!
Jake is seriously the best dad! Every night we have established a nightly routine.... It took us a little bit to get his nights and days back on track (around 3 months), but we are finally there. I will give him a bath, and then Jake will read him a short story.

Each stage is fun, exciting, and definitely a new challenge. He is the best thing that has happened to Jake and I, and we love this little guy more and more each day. Being a mom is something that I have always wanted and knew was my divine calling in this life. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I am so grateful that Tanner has given my life true purpose.
