Christmas in Vermont!

This was the first time in two years everyone was home for Christmas... So it was definitely something I think we all were looking forward to... It was a crazy few days, but I guess that's what makes the holidays the best!

My traveling home was once again a blogging experience.. I had anxiety for the first time traveling home for the holidays... and it made complete sense when I stepped into the airport last Wednesday morning. I had two layovers, which I've never done. One in Detroit and Las Vegas. Upon arriving at the airport in Salt lake, the usuals occur... crowded and crazy airports... intense screenings, delays... and waiting.. There was a hour delay going out for some reason...When finally landing in Vegas I did my usual routines.. Look at the departure screen, after seeing it was on time, I proceeded to get comfortable for my 2 hour layover.. Then finding out like 20 minutes later, my flight to Detroit was delayed 3 hours!

Well, when you have 2 layovers, delays like this can't occur. I went to the customer service desk to talk to them about my flight delay, and they THEN told me I was going to arrive in Detroit to late to catch my connecting flight into Burlington.. So I had to do a quick rearranging of the flights, so I would fly into Minneapolis and then Hartford instead.. Luckily, I realized this soon enough because this flight was "supposed" to take off in 20 minutes.. We finally take off, and I am literally a stress case talking to the passenger next to me... and him trying to confirm to me that I will make it.. even though by the time we land, taxi, and get off the plane I will have about 10 minutes to run to my next gate... So there I go... Running through the airport FULL speed to make my next flight. By the time I got to my gate, I literally could not breathe...

Feeling some relief... I get to my seat and the flight attendant gets on the mic and says that the plane is having computer problems... and if they can't get it figured out we will have to cancel our flight, and hopefully get a flight out the next day...At this point I want to cry... My parents have to now drive three hours to a different airport than planned, and are almost there and I haven't even left yet... A hour later, we finally take off...

Settling down to a movie, and wi-fi on the flight... I then proceeded to knock a cup of ice cubes all over my laptop, and literally chucking them onto the woman next to me. At the time it seemed like the only option.. luckily this woman completely understood and didn't care... and it was something to laugh about... but wow... and you think the day wasn't bad enough already. I seriously was so lucky I didn't have water in that cup, because I am pretty sure it would have busted my computer. Just my luck.

So much went wrong traveling home last Wednesday...despite everything went wrong, I was extremely lucky to get a different flight out, and my luggage actually made it on my flights. Now that's a miracle! I figured it wouldn't be as bad coming back... But it doesn't help the Northeast just got slammed with 2 ft of snow... and 1000's of flights canceled... Now that that is slowly clearing up.. Utah is going to get hit with a snow storm tomorrow.

Moral of the story... no more layover flights and avoid the East Coast during the holidays...

Thanksgiving miracles!

So two miracles happened this Thanksgiving...

1. I didn't kill anyone (as of yet) with my mothers homemade stuffing.. I will say I suffered intense anxiety, headaches, some tears, and some restless nights over this... However, it was a success. Still wasn't perfect like my mothers, but it sure was close enough for being my first time, and under the conditions I was facing!!!!

2. Jayden warmed up to Grandpa! They are officially pals :)

Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving!!!!!

Pray for me...

I LOVE THANKSGIVING!
Well... I don't know if any of you have ever had to make something without specific measurements... It's kinda hard, don't you think? Yeah! Impossible almost! AND, how do you accomplish this task when the source of all this goodness is miles away!
Well, this week I am trying the impossible. I have to learn somehow, right? I am attempting the infamous mothers stuffing! And I have been given approximate amounts, and only the ingredients... Mother thinks its humorous.. But I think its horrible... because all of her best recipes, well best dishes, she does by TASTE and LOOK...and there never is a recipe!!!!

This might be one Thanksgiving NO one will forget!!!!

Just another ordinary day....

Well... President Bush was doing a book signing at Costco in Sandy Utah friday... and, well I guess you could say that I am pretty much famous now... I got to not only shake the hand of the President, but I was able to get a signed book from him. It was a firm shake too... I don't think we let go for like 5-10 seconds...Or, I didn't let go...

This is us waiting in line (Marissa on left, me on right)... It was like 8am... and we were waiting in line for like seven hours. It wasn't too cold, just kinda windy. We were in the first 500, so we were definitely gauranteed to see him. But I guess he got through like 1000 people. We had to go through security checks, so we weren't allowed any cameras or purses. They were pretty strict through that part. Overall, well worth the wait.

It's not everyday you get to meet a former President!!!!
